A Preview of 2012

With the new year came new plans for trips around the country and globe for the guys at the shop. As previously mentioned- we are all featuring pieces in Seventh Son’s Year of the Dragon show which opens on January 21st. Trevor McStay’s Dynamic Tattoo in Australia will be having Jason over, and dates will be announced for that trip soon. Jeff P. will be making periodic trips to NYC to guest spot at Smith Street, so stay on your toes for that one.

As far as conventions go.. we plan to be present at the following conventions in one way or another:

Paradise Tattoo Gathering in Keystone, CO
Portland Tattoo Expo in Portland, OR

Year of The Dragon

Happy New Year from Art Work Rebels! We hope everyone rung in the new year in a safe and enjoyable manner. The last couple days of 2011 were great, as everyone was busy with fun tattoos/clients. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish out the year. Moving on, 2012 is The Year of The Dragon, and the Art Work Rebels guys have all been working hard on their paintings for The Year of The Dragon art show in San Francisco at Seventh Son. This show will feature works created for the show by a ridiculously long list of amazing artists, and if you plan to be in the San Francisco area in late January; we suggest you check it out! Finally, as you probably have noticed, our website is currently under construction, as Jason, Jeff P., & Joe are refreshing their portfolios. Also, we will be adding the portfolios of Joel, Mike V., & Ross. Keep your eyes peeled, as we plan to have the site back up & better than ever in the next two weeks.

In Progress Back Pieces

The big man himself has been hard at work on some very big, beautiful back pieces right up to the year’s end. Not many are lucky enough to get buck naked in front of Mr. Kundell, but those who commit to one of these large pieces are of the fortunate few with that privilege. A couple guys in the shop have back pieces in progress and it’s been a lot of fun watching them move further and further into completion.

The 23rd & Coming Holidays

Today is the 23rd, and at Art Work Rebels that means half-off our Portland/Oregon flash. Joel got to do one our nice little anchors, & Mike gave an excited young lad his first tattoo with a traditional rose. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, but we will be around from 11am-8pm. We will be closed on Christmas Day, as well as New Year’s Day.

Happy Holidays from everyone at Art Work Rebels.

Sleeves & The 23rd

The holiday season has left us a few soldiers short, as Jeff and Joe are both out of town for the holidays, but there’s good news nonetheless- Jason got to finish a sleeve today on our buddy Carlo. Also, this Friday is the 23rd.. That means $150 Portland/Oregon inspired tattoos. All the designs were done in shop by the guys & therefore can’t be found anywhere else in town! Even if you’re strapped from all the Christmas shopping; come on in and check out the designs since we offer this deal every month.

Happy Holidays!

Joe’s been working on some very beautiful Polynesian pieces right into the holiday season. All the guys have been working hard this month and its great to see lots of diversity in the pieces leaving the shop. Don’t forget, this Friday is the 23rd & we will be offering our Portland flash all day for $150. The 23rd is always first come, first serve. Its not too late to get a little more covered before 2012 rolls in.

Feeling Lucky

All of us at Art Work Rebels couldn’t ask for better clientele, as we’re lucky enough to have customers that just keep coming back for more. Whether it’s working on a large piece involving many sessions, or just coming back for another small tattoo; we always end up getting to know a lot of our clientele on a personal level. It’s common for some of our regulars to just drop in & say hello, and it helps create the awesome atmosphere we have here at the shop. Jason had some regulars come from out of town this weekend to get tattooed, and it seemed that good conversation & company were enjoyed by all involved.

Again, AWR would like to thank all of our customers for helping make 2011 a good year.
